Rhinoplasty

ose aesthetics (rhinoplasty) is the name given to the surgery in which the nose is reshaped. The aim of this surgery is to obtain a nose structure that functionally breathes well and looks aesthetically compatible with the face. Since the nose is the most protruding organ on the face, it is frequently exposed to trauma. Due to the effects of these traumas and some congenital problems, functional and aesthetic nose problems are very common in society. These reasons have made rhinoplasty the most frequently performed aesthetic operation in the world. Aesthetic nose surgeries can be performed with general or local anesthesia depending on the situation, but general anesthesia is generally preferred. Although the duration of surgery varies from person to person, it is approximately 2 – 2.5 hours on average. Simultaneously with rhinoplasty surgery, pathologies such as nasal septum deviation, inferior turbinate hypertrophy, concha bullosa and sinusitis, which cause functional problems in the nose, can also be treated. By examining our patients before surgery, we detect pathologies in the nose and plan the surgery within the framework of these examination findings. After nose surgery, intranasal silicone splints are removed 2-4 days later and the splint is removed approximately 7 days later. Although it is related to the skin structure and many other factors, it can take an average of 6 months - 2 years for a nose to take its final shape.
